Manathakali Kurma

Keerai Kurma best served with Rice

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and add Finely Cut Onions (1-2). Fry for a couple of minutes
  • Add Water from soaked Rice
  • Pressure Cook it

Coconut Paste

  • Grind Dried Red Chillies (2), Cumin Seeds (1 tsp), Peppercorn (1/2 tsp), Coconut (4 tbsp)
  • Add Coconut Paste to Keerai
  • Add Tamarind Juice (3 tsp)
  • Temper with Karuvadagam and Dried Red Chillies

Notes

Variation: Manathakali Soup
  1. Cook Keerai, Onions and Tomatoes in a pan.
  2. Once Cooked, add ground Pepper and Cumin
  3. Add Little Coconut Milk
  4. Season with Cinnamon and Cloves
