Onion Thoku

Onion pickle or chutney best served with yogurt rice, chapathi, Idly or Dosa

Instructions

  • Heat Gingely Oil in a pan and add Mustard seeds (1 tsp)
  • Add small onions (1 cup). Fry for a couple of minutes
  • Add Chilli Powder (2 tsp), Turmeric Powder (1 tsp). Saute for a couple of minutes
  • Add Tamarind Paste (4 tsp)
  • Add Salt, Sugar, Asofoetida, Fenugreek Powder (pinch)
  • Fry till thick and Small onions are slightly mashed up.
